I'm starting a new phase in my life. Today, I've begun a new treatment called Lemtrada. This is a once a year 5-day infusion treatment that will wipe out most of my immune system. My body will try to reproduce these cells, which we will again wipe out next year. This is a very intense kind of treatment, but necessary for me. After the second year the hope is that when my immune system builds up again, all the cells will be programmed correctly and they will stop attacking my own body.
I can't express how much I appreciate all the prayers, hugs, and offers to help with anything this week. I truly am blessed with the wonderful people that surround me. I'm especially thankful for my husband who is by my side through sickness and health. My kiddos have been equally sweet praying for me, knowing the value in it. I am so happy to be their momma! My parents and my in-laws are amazing. Without their help this week with taking me to infusions, meals and picking up the kids from school, none of this would be possible. Thank you, thank you, thank you!
I will keep you all posted this week on my treatment and how I'm feeling.
Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, rejoice. Let your reasonableness be known to everyone. The Lord is at hand; do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. - Philippians 4:4-7
